Arctic Impact
Despite geopolitical tensions, there are several partnerships aimed at bringing the Arctic nations together to address regional security and impacts of rapid change. The Arctic Council is the leading intergovernmental body in doing so, which beyond the eight Arctic states also includes permanent representation from six Arctic Indigenous Peoples and 38 observers in the form of non-Arctic states, intergovernmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations (Arctic Council, n.d.).
